TI KAER

About

Ti kaer: Breton for “the beautiful house”.

Ti Kaer, “the beautiful house” in Breton, is an independent publication devoted to the great houses of Brittany: architect villas, manors, châteaux and unusual places. It starts with southern Finistère; northern Finistère, Morbihan, Côtes-d’Armor and Ille-et-Vilaine will follow.

Its rule is simple: sourced, verifiable facts. The history of each house comes from archives, official records and heritage inventories; market figures come from deeds published by the French tax administration. Every source is cited.

Ti Kaer publishes no data on owners, never links a named house to a sale price, and does not publish price ranges: a great house is valued after a visit.

Photographs marked “illustration” do not show a real house. Old documents are shown as they are; recent photographs are converted to black and white, as stated in their captions.

Do you know a historic house, own old photographs of one, or would like a house to be featured? Write to us through the valuation form and say so in your message.
